REFLECTION

“Give light, and the darkness will disappear of itself.” – Desiderius Erasmus

Many times, Jesus instructs his disciples to be a light for others. This points to two things: one is that in the time of Jesus there was much suffering and darkness in the lives of people and two, the solution to darkness is found within ourselves. We can bring people out of darkness by our good deeds. When those around you are in a negative space you have the opportunity to bring light into their world through your words and actions. It may take a lot of kindness and empathy, but the greater the darkness, the greater the light will shine.

ST. JUDE’S PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (PSG) NEEDS PARENT VOLUNTEERS

The Parent Support Group (PSG) is a necessary parent liaison group between the school and the BC Gaming Commission.  The formation of this group meets the eligibility for receiving a government grant from the BC Gaming Commission.  This grant money is intended to benefit K-12 students in British Columbia through enhancement of extracurricular opportunities and community involvement. Historically, this money has subsidized field trips and supported various school clubs (i.e. the chess club and nature club).  The school cannot apply for this grant unless we have parents who volunteer their time towards forming the PSG.  If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please email psg@stjude.ca
