REFLECTION
“A cheerful glance brings joy to the heart; good news invigorates the bones.” – Proverbs 15:30
There are many highlights from the first few weeks of school. However, one in particular rises to the surface.
During the morning drop off, I had the opportunity to escort one of our new Kindergarten students to the line up. In that short walk, I asked him if he was looking forward to school. His excitement and joy radiated as he, without hesitation, said that he likes school. I am sure his smile and his positive energy had a positive impact on others throughout the day.
This young kindergarten student teaches us all to embrace the day and be joyful. Our cheerful smiles will spread and will invigorate those around us.
INDIVIDUAL PICTURE DAY MONDAY SEPT 18
Polish off those smiles and dress in a clean school uniform and sweater for our picture day on Monday, Sept. 18. Retakes will not take place until November so students are encouraged not to miss this opportunity!

PARKING LOT CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED
I am sure many peoples patience was tested this past week during the parking lot construction. There were no injuries and no accidents. I wish to extend my thanks to our community for your understanding and patience.
During construction, many students enjoyed witnessing the machines in action as seen in the picture below.
NEW BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION POLICY
At St. Jude School we have introduced a new policy which will be added to our parent handbook. Effective immediately:
No food is allowed to be brought as a form of birthday celebration. This means no pizza, cupcakes, chips, candy, juice, pop, etc. There are many food allergies, food intolerances, and families may have different nutritional habits which may not align with the edible treats. Suitable alternatives are things like birthday pencils, erasers, bookmarks, etc. Alternatively, you could consider making a charitable donation in honor of your child’s birthday and notifying the classroom.
Thank you for your understanding.
KINDERGARTEN LOOKS FOR THE GINGERBREAD MAN
Run, run, as fast as you can! You can’t catch me, I’m the gingerbread man!
This week students in Kindergarten had a runaway gingerbread man that led them all through our school. They were able to discover the many different areas of our school and meet their peers and the school’s teachers. Thank you to the Kindergarten team for preparing this fun hide and seek game to help our students learn about their new school. Many thanks also to Mrs. Pimentel who baked the gingerbread cookies they discovered at the end!
MEDICAL ALERTS
If your child has an allergy or a medical condition, it is very important that you update the school office. Forms did go home with students that have anaphylaxis and parents must complete the information. If you did not receive any communication from the school and your child has a severe allergy please contact the office.
