The Patrioteer – March 14, 2025

PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Spring Break is upon us. This break from the normal routine is designed to help us rest, recuperate, and refocus ourselves for the rest of the school year. I know that this year has been filled with both joy and struggle, as most years are. Taking time to refocus on what is important while resting and enjoying the gifts God has given us is key to a life of balance. It is important to teach our children about balance and how to enjoy a rest while working hard! In the words of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every activity under heaven.” Prioritize balance!

St. Jude, Pray for us!

The Patrioteer will return in two weeks! Enjoy the break!

GRADE SEVEN GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM SECURES CISVA TROPHY

Basketball season has come to a close with the CISVA basketball finals this week week. After their first place win last year, our Grade Seven Girls’ basketball team played this season with determination and heart.  Notable wins this season were first place in both the OLPH Eagles Tournament and the ND Jugglers Tournament. After an unprecedented winning streak, they were able to persevere against some very strong teams to secure first place at the CISVA finals.  This year’s first place trophy is a culmination of years of hard work on the part of the students, their coaches, and their supportive parents. Congratulations Grade Seven Girls, we are so proud of all you have accomplished!

ST. JUDE VS ST. JOE

Basketball season ended on Thursday for the Grade Five boy’s team with a friendly game against St. Joseph School, Vancouver. Our boys left it all out on the court and won 25-21! Thank you to our coaches, Mr. C and Mrs. Moshfeghi. Congrats on a strong end to the season, boys, we will see you next year!

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

One special school event that takes place during Lent is Stations of the Cross. Through the prayerful participation in this meditation on the last moments of Jesus, we can enter into a fuller understanding of the love God has for us. We are blessed to be able to pass along this Catholic tradition to our students. For more information, please check out EWTN.com

All are welcome to join us for Stations of the Cross in the church every Friday during Lent at 11:30am.
