PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
The Lenten season began this week with Ash Wednesday. The students were able to celebrate mass and receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads. I wouldn’t say that I enjoy the time of penitence that Lent brings, but I can certainly appreciate the importance of reflecting and returning to God. While most of us focus on the penitential part of Lent and what we are giving up, it is important to remember the reason for the season, the celebration of Easter. When we remember that we are an Easter people, Lent can be a time of joy and peace.

GRADE 3 & 4 JAMBOREE
St. Jude is hosting two basketball Jamborees this week and next. These Jamborees are a fun way for our Grade 3 & 4 students to get some experience on the court with some other schools in our area. On Thursday, we hosted students from Our Lady of Sorrows and had tons of fun with them on the court!

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
One special school event that takes place during Lent is Stations of the Cross. Through the prayerful participation in this meditation on the last moments of Jesus, we can enter into a fuller understanding of the love God has for us. We are blessed to be able to pass along this Catholic tradition to our students. For more information, please check out EWTN.com.
All are welcome to join us for Stations of the Cross in the church every Friday during Lent at 11:30am.
