PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

Today is the feast of All Saints. This is a day of celebration and a reminder that God calls all of us all to greatness. The saints are our model and our guide to living our best lives, a life of virtue. Today’s Gospel reading from Matthew offers us a blueprint for life in the Spirit. Jesus calls out to us from this Gospel passage to be poor in spirit, meek, merciful, peacemakers, and to hold fast in times of persecution. These virtues may seem to be a tall order, but the saints show us that even those with the most ordinary life can answer Jesus’ call.

Looking at the lives of the saints, it is easy to hold them on an unattainable pedestal. But in his Angelus address today, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, reminds us that saints are there to inspire, not intimidate. In truth, all is possible when we rely on the Lord, even our own sanctification. He is there if we call on him.

“With His grace,” Pope Francis continued, the Lord “heals us and frees us from all that prevents us from loving as He loves us, so that in us, as Blessed Carlo Acutis used to say, there may always be ‘less of me to make room for God.'” (Vatican News).

LIVING ROSARY

This week marked our annual Living Rosary. The students embodied these prayers by becoming the beads of the rosary and led the school in asking the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary. This assembly is a memorable and remarkable prayer service for our students and one we enjoy participating in every year.

A big thank you to Mrs. DiFonzo and Ms. Corea and the Grade Fours and Sixes for leading us in prayer.
