The Patrioteer -November 14, 2024

Another busy week at St. Jude School! Walking down our hallway you can hear the students hard at work on science experiments, interactive presentations, and even Christmas concert singing. It is lovely to hear everyone so engaged with their learning and happy to collaborate and share with others. One of my greatest joys working in a school is seeing children fully engaged in their learning. We will definitely get more busy as the school year moves into the final month before Christmas break and report cards, but this busy season has so much joy infused in it that I can’t complain!

We are excited to welcome kindergarten sibling registration for children born in 2020, turning 5 in 2025. These children will begin kindergarten in September 2025.  Please pre-register by completing a google form found here:  https://forms.gle/6JxxNYkuWZV2pZGJ9

The volleyball season has ended on a very positive note for our three girls’ teams.

Grade Seven Girls had a wonderful season with many positive gains and a were a formidable team on the court. We’re so proud of all the years this team has been here at St. Jude and we can’t wait to see what the girls will bring to their high school teams. Thank you Mr. Velasquez for coaching and Mrs. Chao for being the teacher sponsor. 

Grade Six Girls made it to the Quarter-finals and show fantastic sportsmanship, tons of heart, and amazing skills. They will be the team to watch as they go into their final year of elementary school volleyball next year. Thank you Mr. Wong for coaching and Ms. Smillie for being the teacher sponsor.

Grade Five Girls also made it to the Quarter-finals and were a real threat on the court. They smashed all expectations on their first year on the volleyball circuit and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for their next two years! Thank you Mr. Campanile and Mr. English for coaching from the heart! 

All our teams made us proud to be Patriots! Great job girls! Thank you to our parent and staff coaches for coaching our girls with passion and inspiring them to do their best! 

We are now accepting new applications for the 2025-2026 school year.  If you know of anyone who would like to attend St Jude’s, please have them contact the office or visit our website for an application form.    They can also contact our office to schedule a school tour, led by a couple of our Grade 7 Student Ambassadors.

A reminder to our families that our referral program is operational. Every student that is referred and enrolls in our school for the year results in a reward of $200 for the the referring family.

If your child had a retake photo, their proofs and order form are going home with them today.   Photo orders are due by November 20th.  You can place your order online or by filling out the order and sending it back to school along with payment.  

We are very excited to invite the community to our 2024 St. Jude Christmas Concert on December 12. This is always a fun evening of song and fellowship. We will have two shows, one at 1:30pm and one at 6:30pm.

Be advised that After School Club will end early this day at 5:00 to make sure students and teachers have time to prepare for the evening concert.   

Monday – Saturday: 9 am morning Masses
Novena Mass on Wednesdays: 7:30 pm
Saturday anticipated Mass: 5 pm
Sunday Mass: 9 am, 11 am, 5 pm
