The Patrioteer – September 13, 2024

Principal's Corner

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the staff and parents of our school for a successful Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday.

Since it was my first Meet the Teacher Night as a principal I was very nervous, but the joy and smiles of our community quickly made me forget my worries. Thank you to the amazing staff who I have the privilege to support and work alongside. Thank you to our Pastor, Fr. Mauricio, and the Parish Education Committee for your support of our school and securing our future through important initiatives. Thank you also to the parent community, especially those who volunteered to serve others that particular evening.

As always, I thank God for those moments when the community are together that bring happiness and joy. Thank you for letting me be a part of you community.

PICTURE DAY MONDAY SEPT 16

Smiles wanted—Picture Day is Monday! Please be sure to dress your child in their complete uniform, including the green sweater.

A NOTE FROM OUR OFFICE

If your family has recently moved, or if you have a new phone number, please email office@stjude.ca your new address/contact information so that we can update our records.

If your child has severe allergies that they are anaphylactic, please email office@stjude.ca and we will send you a Student Emergency Response Plan form for your physician to fill out. Our school is an “allergy aware zone”, which means that certain classrooms may ask parents to not pack allergens in their children’s lunches when a severe allergy is present. PARENTS AND VISITORS TO THE SCHOOL

A reminder to parents and visitors that there is no access to our school hallways without first signing in at the office. This is to ensure the safety of our children and staff. We may not recognize every parent, grandparent, or visitor, so it is really important that everyone checks in first at the office so that we can maintain a safe environment.

Similarly, parents and visitors who are not in a supervisory role such as parent supervisors, are not allowed on the playground during recess and lunch. Parents and visitors who are on our grounds during recess and lunch will be asked to leave the area.

Thank you for your cooperation.

RUN, RUN KINDERS!

It’s that time again, the annual gingerbread man hunt in Kindergarten took place this week. Our Kindergarteners followed the clues all over the school as they chased the gingerbread man from room to room. They finally found him and his friends in the principal’s office and had the pleasure of decorating the gingerbread man cookies as their prize. Thank you to the Kindergarten teachers and EAs for facilitating this fun activity to help our Kindergarteners become more familiar with our building.
