REFLECTION

“The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” – Luke 2:10-12

The message of Christmas is for all of us, regardless of where we might be in our faith journey. The reason that the good news is so joyous is that Jesus was not just born for a select few, rather, he is a savior for all people. In the First Letter of John, we are instructed that “God is love.” Jesus, who is Messiah and Lord, is love made flesh. It is his love for others that saves people and when we imitate his example, we save others and ourselves. It is good news of great joy indeed.

On behalf of the staff and students of St. Jude School, I wish to extend each of you a blessed and joyous Christmas. May the Lord shine brightly upon you and may you find warmth and comfort among family and friends.

STUDENTS NEEDED FOR PARISH CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

St. Jude’s parish needs students to participate in the St. Jude Christmas Pageant on December 24th!   Your child would be assigned a part (Mary, Joseph, Gabriel, angels, shepherds, 3 kings, etc.) and given a copy of the play so they can learn their lines (1-3 short lines typically).  Costumes will be provided.    Please bring your child at 4pm on the 24th so that they can get into costume and do a practice.  The pageant is approximately 15mins in length, followed  by Mass at 6pm.   Contact Carolyn Sussey at cglsussey@yahoo.com to have your child be part of the play.  As well, if you are interested in shadowing her this year to take on this initiative for next year, please let her know. Thank you!

UPDATE CONTACT INFORMATION

A reminder to parents that if you change your email, phone number, or address, you need to update our school office. It is imperative that we have accurate contact information. We need to have at least two contacts for children for emergency situations.

CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA WEEK

I would have to agree with Andy Williams in that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! This week has been full of good cheer and community building. We have had themed dress down days, sing-a-longs, winter wonderland candy creations, Christmas from around the world, Christmas movies and music, hot chocolates, and a visit from Santa Claus and his Elf!

Here K & 7 Buddy students are decorating a winter wonderland.
