REFLECTION

“What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family.” – Mother Teresa

With Family Day approaching on February 15, 2021, it is fitting that we are reminded by Mother Teresa that having love in our homes is the best way we can promote a lasting and sustaining peace. Perhaps more than ever, with many of us having to limit our social outings and extra curricular activities, the family unit is all the more important.

As educators, we understand the critical role parents play in the lives of their children. By creating homes of love and care, children are given the confidence to learn and grow into the people that God intends them to be. When we focus on creating a loving environment in our home, we can then extend this love outward. Teaching your children to love, to sacrifice for others, to care for others, to listen to others, to forgive others, are among the most important lessons a parent can pass on.

We all want our children to attend schools that are safe and caring. We all want our children to be accepted and encouraged. We all want our children to succeed and help others. If we want this, we first must create homes that reflect the values we want for our children. In doing that, we make all of our communities better.

Happy Family Day!

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Next week kicks off Catholic schools week. As such, some classes have had their students reflect on what they like about St. Jude School. While parents cannot access our hallways, I thought I would share some of what the students said.

STAY INFORMED

I would like to encourage all of our parents, grandparents, and those connected to our school community to follow our social media feeds. It is through these feeds that you will be able to see what is happening in our school as we begin to post more and more pictures showing student learning. It is also a quick and free way for the school to post instant messages about school safety. If we were in a lockdown, I can easily post to our Twitter and Facebook feeds the situation and relevant updates. I cannot easily do that through mailchimp or the website. By following us, you can be well informed. Simply click the links below to follow us.
