Reflection

The other day I was helping to set up for the CISVA Track Meet. In order to set up for the day, Principals and Teachers often arrive between 6:00-6:30am. It is an early day for all involved with the meet, but it is worth it as we get to witness students striving for their best. While I was threading ethernet cable to one of the computers, my phone started to ring. When I answered, I heard the voice of my almost 3 year old daughter. She did not get to see me that morning as I left the house when all were still sleeping. She needed to hear my voice and her voice was like warm sunshine on my soul. It got me thinking about the simple things of life and how God often speaks to us in these moments if we are able to listen and reflect. In her voice she said, “I love you Dad” and I replied with an “I love you too.” Simple, yet those words stayed with me throughout the day. I think any expression of authentic love is an expression of the divine. For in 1 Jn 4:8 we are told that “God is love.”
