REFLECTION

“People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.” – Dale Carnegie

Sometimes adults have a tendency to underestimate the power of having fun and when we forget to have fun, we find ourselves on journey towards more stress resulting in us becoming rather unpleasant to be around. That was one of my takeaways from a workshop I attended on trauma informed practice. If we want our children to be happy and resilient individuals we need to model the way for them. And by we, I mean all the adults in their life: their parents, their teachers, their coaches, and any adult that is in their life. We all have to model the way for our children.

The challenge I give to each of us then for spring break is to find ways to have some fun. Bring fun and joy into your home and this will go far in creating environments that are less anxious.

COVID 19 UPDATE

Yesterday the PHO made several announcements around Covid19 restrictions. The most significant one for schools is that masks will no longer be mandated. The decision to wear a mask or face covering is a personal choice for staff, students and visitors. A person’s choice is to be supported and respected.

STAFF RECRUIT OUTSIDE HELP TO GAIN VICTORY OVER THE GR 7 BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM

The staff of St. Jude School battled the Gr. 7 Boys Basketball team on the court. What the Gr. 7 Boys did not realize was that the staff had recruited a 6’8 former NCAA Div 1 Basketball Player in Drew Urquhart to help us to victory. Combined with Miss Handy who also played Div 1 Basketball for Vermont, the staff were too tall and too talented to be defeated.

It was a fun afternoon and many a staff member found themselves out of breath trying to keep up with the Gr. 7 Boys.
