REFLECTION

“Talent is a pursued interest. Anything you’re willing to practice, you can do.” – Bob Ross

If you do not know who Bob Ross is, I encourage you to look him up and spend some time watching some of his Joy of Painting episodes. For me, I grew up with Bob Ross and I am happy that my own children now love watching him. It is mesmerizing and calming. You truly do feel a sense of joy when watching Bob Ross at work. As an adult, I have a newfound appreciation for Bob Ross and some of his phrases.

I think one of the goals of our school is to provide our children with opportunities to discover their interests and to communicate that with intentional practice you can get better. As the first educators, parents also need to provide their children with opportunities to discover passions and interests. You know your child is interested when they choose to practice without being told to. That is the “willingness” to practice part in the quote from Bob Ross.

Have a splendid weekend!

PATRIOTS SPIRIT WEAR NOW AVAILABLE TO ORDER

Patriots Gear is now available for order on the Cambridge Uniform Store Website.

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Parent Teacher Interviews are coming up on Thursday, October 19th. The purpose of Parent Teacher Interviews is for the teacher and the parent/guardian(s) to discuss the child’s behaviour, habits, attitude, and performance. The conversations are to focus on goals for the child and the strategies to implement at home and at school so that greater learning can happen. It is also an opportunity to raise and address concerns. It is not an opportunity to discuss other children or other teachers.

There will be no school on this day, and we do not recommend that children attend the interview.

To book your time slot, please visit this link:

If none of the posted times work, please email your child’s teacher to set up an alternate time to meet.
