REFLECTION
“Success is the peace of mind in knowing you did the best of which you are capable.” – John Wooden
The above line is perhaps my favorite John Wooden quote and one I go to often. Indeed, success is not always tied to the score of a particular game. However, it sure does feel great when the result of the game matches the hard work of the players and coaches. Yesterday, our Gr. 6 Girls Team achieved something that sets the history books here at St. Jude School as they were crowned Champions of CISVA Basketball. The girls capped off their perfect, 15-0, season with a dominant finals performance. However, it was the semi-final game against a very good school, St. Patrick’s Vancouver, that tested the girls resolve. Down by 3 with just over 2 minutes to go, the girls battled hard and ended up coming back and winning the game by a single point.
I would like to thank the parents who came out in support of their daughters and cheered them on with great spirit. I would like to thank Mr. Mow who coordinated things behind the scenes. I would like to especially thank Mr. Chris Akol and Mr. Randi Velasquez who coached the girls and have worked with developing players in the off season. Their dedication to our school sports is truly commendable. Most importantly, a shout out to the girls who played with spirit and determination. You represented our school very well and you have made all of us feel a great sense of school pride.

ST. JUDE'S PARISH PRESENTS GOD'S HEALING LOVE
St. Jude’s Parish is hosting a community-wide parish mission on God’s Healing Love from March 11-13, at 6:30-8:30pm. This series of talks will cover:
Healing through Forgiveness (Monday, Mar 11)
Healing through Repentance (Tuesday, Mar 12)
Healing through the Name of Jesus Christ (Wednesday, Mar 13)
Fr. Greg Bramlage of Missionaries of the New Evangelization will introduce us to a new understanding of God’s Mercy and share with us the incredible healings that result when we repent of our sins, forgive those who’ve hurt us and pray with expectant faith. He will teach us how to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit and enter into a more profound relationship with Jesus and God the Father. Please come with an open heart & expectant faith. Each night there is a free-will offering to offset the cost of the Mission and to help Fr. Greg build a Center for the New Evangelization in the Diocese of Tyler, Texas. Children are welcome.
