PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Today is Good Friday, the day that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of humanity. Children often ask why this day is called “Good” when it is the day that we remember a very brutal act against a man who showed the world nothing but love. But Good Friday is ultimately a day of hope, the hope that though the world is full of darkness, the light ultimately prevails.
Pope Francis’ is championing Jesus’ message of hope through the theme for the 2025 Jubilee.
“May the hope that does not disappoint, the central message of the jubilee, be the focus of our Lenten journey toward the victory of Easter.”
Through Jesus we find hope during the bad times. Though we suffer here on earth Jesus, our brother, has gone before us and prepares a place for us with Him in paradise. Good Friday, one of the darkest day in history has been redeemed by the joy of Easter resurrection.
St. Jude, Pray for us!

HOLY THURSDAY RETREAT
Yesterday we had our annual Holy Thursday Retreat. This day is one of my favourite days of the year as the students are able to grow closer to God through prayer and reflection.
This year is a significant one in the Catholic Church as we celebrate a Jubilee Year, something that happens only every 25 years. This year’s retreat highlighted the Jubilee Year as part of our day and students were able to learn about the history and significance of these years throughout history. Our retreat was made extra special when the students embarked on a mini pilgrimage to one of the official Jubilee 2025 sites, St. Jude Parish and Shrine. We are beyond lucky to have this pilgrimage site in our own backyard! Our students were able to start the Triduum with reflection and prayer when Fr. Mauricio concluded our retreat with Exposition and Benediction.
It was an impactful day for our students. Thank you to Fr. Mauricio and our wonderful staff who provide these opportunities.
