The Patrioteer – May 22, 2026

PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

This weekend we celebrate Pentecost. This feast day is observed 50 days after Easter and marks the birthday of the Christian Church. On Pentecost the apostles gathered together in fear as Jesus had ascended into heaven and they felt alone and Afraid. But Jesus had promised them He would not leave them alone for long. The Holy Spirit came upon them in the form of tongues of fire and they were filled with the Spirit and immediately went out to preach the Gospel message. This “going out” is why we now have our Church, as the apostles spread the message far and wide.

This story is inspiring for us as we remember that the Holy Spirit is our hope in hopeless times. Though Jesus as ascended to the Father and is no longer walking among us, the Holy Spirit stays with us always.
