The Patrioteer – September 25, 2026

This week was our Grade Seven Outdoor Education Program at Camp Elphinstone in Gibsons, BC. The students had an amazing time experiencing the great outdoors and bonding with their classmates. This is a special time as our Grade Seven class embarks on their final year in St. Jude School. 

Ms. Smillie, Mr. Mow, Ms. Lee, and Fr. Mauricio had the pleasure of chaperoning the trip and were able to get in on the fun by canoeing and participating in archery! Everyone also loved the campfire tales and enjoying time in the forest communing with God’s creation. 

Thank you to the lovely team at Camp Elphinstone for our trip!

• Did you miss the first photo day or are needing a retake? Retakes are offered for expression, poor posture, or head tilt; not for personal style changes (ie: change of clothing or hair). Please note all glass glare is removed on final prints. 
• If you would like your photo taken, we will be at your school on: October 27 2026

Today was our first “Care Day”. Care Days are the last Fridays of the month are days when students are reminded to care for others. As we did last year, we have done an EFT of $18.00 for all 9 of our Care Days. The money collected has been used to support Covenant House and the Archdiocese Charities. The EFT is scheduled for October 9, 2026. If you choose to not participate, please email bookkeeper@stjude.ca. 

It’s Volleyball Season! 

Our Grade Seven Boys and Girls team hosted Our Lady of Mercy on Tuesday. Both teams had a great time!

If you plan to volunteer with the school (e.g. field trips) or your parent participation requires interaction with children, we ask that you complete a Criminal Record Check.  There is no cost for this and it can be completed online. Our Hot Lunch ordering site, Munchalunch, is open for ordering!

Ordering will close at 7am every Wednesday for all the hot lunches of the following week. For example, for lunches Tuesday, October 6th – Thursday, October 8th, ordering will close on Sept 30th at 7am.

To register your child for After School Club, please use the online form on our website: https://stjude.ca/after-school-club/

After school club goes till 5:30pm and will be run by a few of our staff on a rotating basis (Ms. Finglas, Mr. Munro, Ms. Shin, Ms. Azarcon, and Ms. Grimes).

Please note that students not picked up by 3:30pm will be sent to After School Club.

St. Jude’s Parish offers an RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program for anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and for Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation.  For more information, please contact the parish office to speak with Fr.
