PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
What was dreamed about, what endured as a hope against hope, has become a reality. God has opened the grave of his Son, and the bonds of death have been shattered forever.
-Bishop Robert Barron
After a long season of waiting, Lent is ending and Easter season begins this weekend. I read a wonderful reflection on the Easter Gospel last year from Bishop Barron (found here). He writes about how the grave used to be a finality. Death was the ultimate divide before the resurrection of Christ changed the game. Now through Christ we can have life after death, eternal life in Heaven. The resurrection is counter-cultural in a world that sees death as the ending, whereas Christ tells us it is a beginning of something better.
May you and your family have a peaceful and blessed journey through the Triduum to Easter Vigil!
Christus resurrexit, Alleluia!

HOLY THURSDAY RETREAT
Today we had our annual Holy Thursday Retreat. Our students began the day with a prayer service in the Church, completed a craft with their buddy class, and were led in an active reflection on the Passion of Our Lord by the Grade 5’s who put on a play depicting the Last Supper and the Crucifixion and burial of Jesus Christ.
Thank you to our Retreat team, Ms. Corea, Ms. Smillie, and Ms. Lee. And a big Thanks to Ms. Bugarin who organized and directed the Grade 5 Passion Play!
