The Patrioteer – October 24, 2025

PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

This week is the feast day of our beloved patron saint, St. Jude! Jude was an apostle of Jesus’ and traditionally credited as a cousin of Jesus. After Christ’s death and resurrection, Jude became a missionary to neighboring regions and North Africa. Jude was eventually martyred for his faith and joined his brother apostles in Heaven.

We can learn much from the story of St. Jude. From humble beginnings to preaching the gospel in far-off and inhospitable lands, St. Jude was true to himself and the message of the Gospel. Due to the closeness of his name to the name of Judas, the betrayer of Jesus, it is often thought that he is apostle who is least called upon and thus the patron of hopeless or despaired causes. But we know St. Jude as a kind and brave champion of the Gospel and a strong patron for our students.

Our St. Jude feast day mass will take place on Tuesday at 9am at St. Jude’s Parish and Shrine.
